Waterfront Home Design Tips:
Part One Florida real estate has found its way back into the hearts
of American’s, young and old, wealthy and, well…
not as wealthy; it has become an attainable short-term
goal, not just a retirement plan. With a broad spectrum
of buyers from all over the country finding themselves
in new waterfront homes, they ought to know the keys to
decorating that won’t cramp their individual style,
but will bring out the best in the features of waterfront
living.
The Bedroom-
Decorating the bedroom is often the most rushed and overlooked
room in a new home. Sure, we can’t exactly be sleeping
in the hammock for weeks while we work our Feng Shui magic.
That said, we also cannot overlook the importance of the
room wherein we spend at least eight of our hours everyday.
So, you’ve got a place with a view, you’ve
got the water on one side, the natural light and serene
darkness of uninhibited nature; so use it. The first step
is to orient the bed to take full advantage of that aforementioned
light and dark and that calming ocean breeze. Try to get
your bed with walking space on all sides, close to the
windows without, of course, getting dangerously close.
The placement of the bed is key, so though, is the functionality
of the space, try to keep all that in mind as you bring
in the rest of your furniture.
The Kitchen-
A room that is perpetually thought to be stagnant and
unchangeable, the kitchen can actually be one of the more
inviting rooms, while maintaining its functionality. Again,
taking full advantage of the light, a skylight can be
added above a breakfast nook or island to open up the
room and give it the air of spaciousness; nothing worse
than feeling cramped in what can be the most chaotic room
in the house. This also keeps us thinking outdoors, on
those bad weather or lengthy food-preparation days.
